Sponge invites families to two free cultural events in February at its centers in Seattle and Bellevue, celebrating the Chinese New Year. In honor of the Year of the Dragon, Sponge will welcome Chinese performers and offer a variety of make-and-take crafts for families.
At the celebration in Bellevue on Sunday, Feb. 12, kids will make and decorate Chinese dragon puppets, sample traditional "good luck" foods and listen to a special story about how the Chinese zodiac animals were chosen. As well, native-speaking teachers from Sponge will offer New Year-themed mini language classes in Mandarin for guests.
