GUIDING PRINCIPLES
We have five guiding principles.
Children: Children are the center of our work. Every child will have an equal opportunity to achieve their full potential. Their families will have access to high quality early care and education environments.
Collaboration: We are stronger through collaboration. Working together, we will achieve a greater outcome than working alone for creating positive change in the well-being of children in Thurston County, ages birth to eight.
Communication: We communicate opening and with respect with each other. TECC members take responsibility for communicating with each other regarding program services and funding, respecting the inherent competition for limited resources that exist, while also supporting each other’s programs and partnering together to create additional resources.
First Teachers: Parents and caregivers are the child’s first teacher. Access to a broad array of parent education and support information is essential to healthy child development.
Diversity: TECC membership, services and activities will reflect the diversity of the county.
MEMBERSHIP: The Thurston Early Childhood Coalition (TECC) is made up of organizations and individuals who are committed to working together to build and support a comprehensive system of high quality early care and educational environments for Thurston County children (pre-natal to age 8) and their families and caregivers. TECC invites membership participation from any individual or organization willing to support their mission, guiding principles and strategic plan and who will contribute constructively to this collaboration.
