Book list from our friends at the Early Learning Public Library Partnership

08 Booklist.pdf

One of our partners, Pierce County Library System, shared this book list with me. It is a list of some of the top children's books published in 2008. I have slowly been reading down the list and throughly enjoying them. I thought you might enjoy doing so too!

Baby Promises

I lay in bed fighting for a few extra moments of sleep. I had been up at 1.00 AM to feed our baby and again at 4.00 AM when his cries convinced my husband to say "just put him in bed with us, I have to be up in an hour anyway." I looked at Ivan, all swaddled, laying sideways—feet in my face, sleeping serenely and I made a silent promise to him. I silently told him that I would always love him.

Since Ivan was born almost six-months ago, I’ve made numerous promises to him. Some of them spoken “I… Continue

Summer Readin' Had Us a Blast! Summer Reading Happens So Fast!

CiKeithia at the Seattle Public Library, and a member of the Early Learning Public Library Partnership, encouraged us to join the summer reading program.

It was so much fun! Summer Readin' Had Us a Blast! Summer reading Happens So Fast!

Jesse and I read to Ivan, logged the books we read to him and took the certificate back to the library. Ivan was rewarded with a new boar… Continue

What does the AARP have in common with Early Learning?

My friend sent me this YouTube video from the AARP. It is really quite depressing in the beginning, but if you watch the whole thing it makes sense and gives you a sense of hope. It is definately thought provoking and involves some creative genius. Please watch the video, its only about two minutes long.

Ivan is gorgeous! I cannot wait to hold him. Gabrielle is sleeping through the night. She will actually sleep until 7:30-8am, if we don't have to go anywhere. My body is still adjusting from being pregnant so I don't sleep very well.

Yeah this is pretty cool! Is it linked to Facebook? How old is your little one? My princess, Gabrielle, turned 7 months today. She is into everything...we think she is going to walk really early. Well I guess trying to keep up with her 17, 15 & 11 year old siblings will do that to a kid : )

Soon enough, you will have one of your own! I've got some great blankets for a boy (or girl if you are OK with her being swaddled in truck print).
