The Foundation for Early Learning celebrates an important milestone this month. With our most recent grants to Grays Harbor, Kittitas and Whitman Counties, the Foundation has now funded 27 coalitions serving all 39 counties in Washington State. This support totals over
$810,000 in direct funding.
In addition to these monetary grants, the Foundation has also provided technical assistance services to help these grassroots coalitions build partnerships, fundraise and develop a sustainable early learning network. These efforts have improved the learning opportunities for children birth through age five.
This is a momentous event for our state; it demonstrates that Washington is a regional and national leader in early learning.
However, our work has only begun. The Foundation will continue to support these and other community coalitions. Coalition efforts align with the Foundation's mission - helping parents serve as their child's first teachers and preparing children to succeed in kindergarten and in life.
I would like to thank those who have made this possible including early learning community coalition members, volunteers,
partner organizations, and the Foundation's donors and advocates. Over 1,000 individuals, organizations and companies contribute annually to the Foundation. These investments are showing exciting, positive results.
I encourage you to support early learning by advocating for children birth through five, supporting your local coalition, or
contributing to the
Foundation for Early Learning. You can learn more about ways to invest in the future of Washington by visiting
