Tips and resources to support children birth to age five

A new service at Sno-Isle Libraries, Learning Kits are proving popular with our public. The kits were developed with funding awarded to the local Childcare Resource and Referral agencies serving Snohomish and Island counties plus a vey generous donation of learning materials from Island County Success by Six.
We expect that as our new Play and Learn group at the Lynnwood Library starts up, that it will be a resource for them, too.

Well I would start with the libraries and see what they have as networks in their areas, I can tell you that there is a need in this area for fun free things for birth to 5 kids.
I think that also conecting with local services for this age group might also provide some good resources.

Heather, I haven't looked around in north county. Do you have a suggestion?

I was just wondering as I am a Snohomish County ECEAP mom and I know that here in the North Sno Co area there is little for services for young children to learn and play as there is less services in this area... Have you looked around for partner agencies in the north end?

The Learning Kits are online searchable in the Sno-Isle Libraries catalog by keyword Learning Kit or subject Educational Games and Toys in order to place a HOLD and have the kit/s delivered to your library. (They are stored at the Sno-Isle Service Center.)
The Play and Learn group in Lynnwood is 3 weeks old and our first. To initiate others we need a partner agency to provide or support staffing. The Little Red Schoolhouse, south county, currently provides a teacher for the Lynnwood Play and Learn group.
Tell me more about your interest.

Are there any Kits in the North end- Arlington, Granitfalls, Stanwood... and will there be any of the play and learn groups heading up north?

Thanks for the note. Do you have any of the resource online?
