Families Spend $12,445 Annually on Child Care

According to Care.com's quarterly report, families are spending twice as much annually as they spend on higher education. This is primarily a result of government assistance making up a much higher percentage of higher ed financing than is provided for early education. While I would never call for greater investment in early ed at the expense of higher ed, it is frustrating that the public sector has so little value for early education despite its massive return on investment.
