Tips and resources to support children birth to age five

Many people have been going into a frenzy about the H1N1 virus, also referred to as the Swine Flu. It was said that half of the United States could be infected this year.

What does this mean for preschoolers? Well many preschoolers are preparing for what could be a pandemic. Schools were advised earlier this year to create a pandemic plan in case this virus spreads rapidly.

Make sure to ask your local preschool if they in fact have a pandemic plan. You many also want to ask your childcare services/ daycare's if they have a plan as well. Ask what techniques or best practices they plan on using to prevent this pandemic. What should parents know or ask before sending their children to school?

Here are a couple interesting articles regarding the Swine Flu from the Washington Post and the Examiner.
